Yevhen Hutsalo is the voice of the Ukrainian soul, speaking through gentle prose and poetry. He was born among the quiet landscapes of the Vinnytsia region, which later became an integral part of his work. His works are a gentle dialog with nature, the human heart, and time.
“We must love this land so much...” - under this title, a literary and artistic evening was held on March 25 in the Vinnytsia Regional Universal Scientific and Research Library named after V. Otamanovsky on the occasion of the 88th birthday of Yevhen Hutsal, Ukrainian writer of the sixties, prose writer, novelist, publicist, Shevchenko Prize winner, and the 13th anniversary of the founding of the Yevhen Hutsal Literary and Artistic Association ‘Podilska Chrysanthemum’. The event was attended by 20 students of Vinnytsia Interregional Higher Vocational School.
The participants of the Podil Chrysanthemum, Vinnytsia poets, also recited their own poems: Oleh Krushelnytskyi, Alyona Nikitina, Natalia Khymych, Tetyana Shkurak, and poems by Yevhen Hutsal performed by Svitlana Kotlyar.
Veronika Ostapchuk, head of the association, poet, bard, member of the National Union of Journalists, sang her songs and told about the life and work of the famous poet from Ukraine.
Hutsal's words should not just be read, but felt, breathed in, and dissolved in their melody. This is a legacy that reminds us how important it is to preserve eternal values and hear the voice of our land.
