On April 03, 2025, the Vinnytsia State Center for Aesthetic Education of Vocational School Students, within the framework of a cooperation agreement with the Vinnytsia Regional Art Museum, held a workshop for heads of arts and crafts clubs of vocational education institutions in Vinnytsia region on the topic: “Museum pedagogy in the process of educating a creative personality and forming a new way of thinking of young people in accordance with modern trends in education.”
The event was attended by 25 participants, including the acting director of the Center Alla Sapozhnyk, methodologist of the artistic and aesthetic direction Valentyna Ivanova, pedagogical staff of VET institutions and museum researchers.
During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:
on the formation of a new way of thinking of young people and the education of a creative personality through museum pedagogy;
creation of the album "Embroidery: Geography of Motifs" (Vinnytsia region. Samples of embroidery of the late nineteenth - mid-twentieth centuries from the stock collection of the Vinnytsia Regional Art Museum) was presented by the museum's scientific secretary Olha Izmaykova;
the prospects of creating museum and educational programs for VET students and the results of the regional stage of the All-Ukrainian exhibition-competition of decorative and applied arts and crafts “Know and Love Your Land” were reported by Valentyna Ivanova, methodologist of the artistic and aesthetic direction of the Center.
Serhii Bartko, Head of the Fine Arts Research Department, member of the Vinnytsia Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists, led the seminar participants through the exhibition halls, and spoke emotionally and informatively about the museum's updated exhibitions.
The main topic of the seminar was to familiarize the participants with the technique of Easter egg painting with wax, which is relevant before the Easter holidays.
The tradition of Easter egg painting in Ukraine dates back thousands of years and predates the introduction of Christianity in Ukraine: eggs were painted with wax to create a symbolic pattern; then paint was added to give the eggs wonderful colors. The wax was removed from the painted eggs, leaving only the colored ornament.
The master class “Traditional painting of Easter eggs with wax” was aimed at reviving traditions, familiarizing people with the symbolism of signs on Easter eggs that combine the past and the present: Kateryna Honchar, researcher at the Art Museum, and Olga Romanyshyna, deputy director for research.
In a friendly atmosphere, helping each other, the teachers got acquainted with the technique of pysanky making and learned to create individual pysanky. The most interesting was the process of removing wax from the eggs, as this shell hid all the creative fantasies of the participants.
We sincerely thank the administration, represented by Director Ruslan Palamarchuk and the staff of the Vinnytsia Regional Museum for their fruitful cooperation in the artistic and aesthetic education of students.
We thank all the teachers who took part in this event, because as the folk wisdom says, “As long as there are Easter eggs, there will be peace!”
