On March 27, 2025, the Vinnytsia State Center for Aesthetic Education of Vocational School Students held a regional seminar for librarians of vocational education institutions on the topic: “Library in the Realities of Wartime: From Today's Challenges to Successful Endeavors”, which became a platform for sharing experiences, creative ideas and new approaches to working with students in today's realities. The event was organized by the Vinnytsia Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V. Otamanovsky (director Halyna Slotiuk).
The discussion was attended by 20 librarians from vocational education institutions of the region, Tetiana Marchenko, head of the scientific and methodological department of the Vinnytsia Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V. Atamanovskyi, library specialists, Iryna Liubchak, deputy director for educational work of the Vinnytsia Regional Center for Vocational Education and Training, and Natalia Bartko, methodologist of the institution.
The participants of the meeting talked a lot about the fact that in difficult times of war, libraries are not just a repository of books, but real islands of hope, support and knowledge, because even in the most difficult conditions, their employees remain faithful to their mission - to give knowledge, inspiration, support and help their readers overcome difficulties. We outlined the main trends, achievements, and problems of libraries in Vinnytsia Oblast and discussed ways to further develop them.
During the methodological navigator workshop, Kateryna Skomarovska, Head of the Window on America sector, spoke about media drivers, the importance of information literacy and hygiene, and Maryna Semyk, Head of the Regional Training Center sector, opened up new opportunities for the Diia platform to the audience.
Iryna Makarevych, librarian of the Koziatyn Interregional Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport, shared her own methodology of sociological surveys in the study of students' reading culture during the “methodological studio on work experience”.
In conclusion, all those present received positive emotions and the opportunity to relax during the master class “Tenderness of Spring in Watercolor”, which was conducted by Larysa Bila, Head of the Department of Economics, New Technologies and Legal Sciences of the Valentyn Otamanovsky Library.
