Qn September 11, 2025, the Legal Information Sector of the V. Otamanovsky Vinnytsia Regional Universal Scientific Library held an information hour entitled “Legal Culture as the Foundation of Democratic Values,” dedicated to International Democracy Day. Twenty students from the Vinnytsia Center for Vocational Education in Technology and Design participated in the event.
The program of the event consisted of several interactive and educational blocks.
Kateryna Osadchuk, librarian of the legal information sector, gave a lecture entitled “Democracy as a Value and Practice,” during which participants learned about the essence of democracy, its basic principles, and its significance for the development of society.
The dialogue platform “E-democracy: transparency, openness, participation,” moderated by Marina Semyk, head of the “Regional Training Center” sector, became a platform for discussing the possibilities of electronic democracy, providing practical advice on effective civic engagement.
Oksana Yatsyuk, a trainer at the Podil Human Rights Center, organized an interactive game called “Steps to Participation,” which combined elements of competition and learning. She helped participants better understand democratic processes and the role of each citizen in them.
The event became a useful platform for improving legal culture and forming an active civic position. Young people gained new knowledge and skills that will contribute to their participation in building a democratic society.
