On November 27, 2025, a meeting of the methodological section of heads of decorative and applied arts and fine arts clubs of vocational schools was held at the Higher Artistic Vocational School No. 5 in Vinnytsia on the topic: “Jute thread in decorative and applied arts: technique, creativity, tradition.”
The event was attended by 18 teachers from 12 vocational education institutions and the Vinnytsia State Center for Aesthetic Education of Vocational School Students. Andriy Bezuhlyi, director of VHPPT No. 5 in Vinnytsia, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
Acting Director of the Center Alla SAPOZHNIK outlined the direction of the work, which provided an opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of authentic techniques, learn about modern creative approaches, and gain professional experience.
🔸 Presentation “Talismans of Destiny”
Olena Muravko, a master of industrial training at VHPTU No. 5 in Vinnytsia, presented a vivid selection of works - birds, grasshoppers, and traditional motanki. She shared the secrets of creating talismans and the peculiarities of working with natural materials.
🔸 Report “The Use of Threads in the Decorative and Applied Arts of Ukraine”
Yulia Kucherenko, a teacher at Vinnitsa Vocational School No. 5, revealed the historical origins of the use of thread in Ukrainian culture and showed how modern masters reinterpret this material in their works
✂ Practical part
The participants were particularly interested in the master class “Thread Horse - Echo of the Ukrainian Sun” conducted by Olena Muravko. Those present created symbolic crafts with their own hands, experiencing the magic of thread and its expressive decorative potential.
At the end of the meeting, organizational issues were discussed, and opinions and suggestions were exchanged. We sincerely thank the administration of the institution and the teaching staff for their hospitality and fruitful long-term cooperation.
