“Keeper of Ukrainian Traditions” was the title of a cultural and artistic event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Mariia Rudenko's birth that took place on February 13, 2025, in the reading room of the Vinnytsia Regional Universal Scientific and Cultural Library named after V. Otamanovskyi.
Mariia Rudenko is a folklorist, ethnographer, teacher, local historian, winner of the Pavlo Chubynskyi All-Ukrainian Prize, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, and world-renowned folk master of decorative and applied arts.
The event was attended by 20 students of Vinnytsia Higher Vocational School of Services.
The event featured an excerpt from the movie “The Turtledove” and videos of songs by the folk amateur folklore and ethnographic ensemble “Turtledove”. Musical pieces were performed: Ukrainian folk songs “Half of the Garden Blooms” and “Oh, Don't Shine, Moon” performed by the Podil Trio “Oberig” of the Vinnytsia Regional Philharmonic named after M. D. Leontovych with the participation of Honored Artists of Ukraine Lidia Ostapchuk, Halyna Korol and Oleksandr Ostapchuk; the song “Oh, You Left” performed by Oleksandra Koriniuk, a first-year master's student at the Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University.
The audience got acquainted with the book exhibition “Vytynanky of Fate: Creative Heritage of Mariia Oksentiivna Rudenko” prepared by the specialists of the Department of Local History and the Department of Artistic Culture and Arts.
