On February 20, on the occasion of the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, a national patriotic hour “Heavenly Hundred in Humanities, Technical and Natural Sciences” was held in the reading room of the Humanities, Technical and Natural Sciences Department of the Vinnytsia Regional Scientific Library. The event was attended by 15 students of Vinnytsia Higher Vocational School of Services.
In 2025, Ukraine honors the feat of the Heroes who died defending the ideals of democracy, the European future, and human rights and freedoms under the slogan “Heavenly Hundred: Heroes of the first victory in the ongoing battle”.
The tumultuous events of February 2014 were described by Ihor Saletskyi, Director of the Administration of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve in Sviatohirsk of the Donetsk Regional Council, Oleksiy Servetnyk, Chief Specialist of the Central Interregional Department of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, and Mykola Melnyk, a participant of the Revolution of Dignity who was injured during the violent resistance on the Maidan. The national-patriotic hour was joined by guests from Donetsk region, who spoke about the fallen heroes from the region during a live broadcast.
Nazar Tsaruk, a student of Vinnytsia Children's Music School No. 1, performed heartfelt bandura music.
The event was accompanied by a thematic book exhibition prepared by the staff of the Humanities, Technical and Natural Sciences Documents Department of the V. Otamanovsky VOUNL.
We remember those who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine. Their feat is a reminder of the value of dignity, independence and the right to be free. Heroes do not die.
