On November 26, 2024, the presentation of the almanac “To Live Against All Odds. Women's Stories about the War of 2014 and 2022” on the occasion of 1000 days since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, organized in cooperation with the Vinnytsia Regional Scientific Library named after V. Otamanovsky.
The presentation was attended by 15 students of the Vinnytsia Vocational School No. 1.
The program of the event included speeches by well-known Vinnytsia residents, representatives of the publisher, co-authors of the almanac, volunteers, poets, and artistic performances by young talents.
The book contains the testimonies of 11 Ukrainian women of different professions from different regions of Ukraine who tell about their traumatic experience of war. Their stories cover events from 2014 to 2022. The authors sincerely and frankly wrote about life under Russian occupation, the loss of relatives, property and health due to the war, captivity, etc. An important part of the stories is about what supported them during these shocks and continues to help them survive the traumatic experience of war.
The authors write about the crimes committed by the Russians because they know that it is necessary to defeat the aggressor and guarantee that it will not happen again. The book will encourage its readers to look around and see how much strength and resilience we, Ukrainians, have!
