On October 31, 2024, Nataliia Bartko, a methodologist at the Vinnytsia State Center for Aesthetic Education of Students, joined the IX International Scientific and Practical Conference “Oral History: Cognitive and Documentary Potential and Public Archival Studies” organized by the Vinnytsia Regional Scientific and Pedagogical Library named after V. Otamanovsky in an online format.
The following issues were considered and actively discussed at the meeting: theoretical, methodological, and applied problems of oral history; source base of oral history research; public archivalism: theory, practice, experience; “unfinished/uncooled past” in oral history narratives; oral history and challenges of the Russian-Ukrainian war; projects on regional, local, and ethnic history; reflection of culture and life in oral sources; professional ethics of oral history researchers.
The conference has become a unique platform for its participants to discuss topical issues of the cognitive and documentary potential of oral history and public archiving.
